The Auburn Community Band is very proud to celebrate its 40th Anniversary in 2022. On May 20, 1982, the Auburn Community Band got together for the first time and made its first sound. We have never really tried to duplicate that sound, but have always strived to make our music better every year. This anniversary is one that we can be very proud of since it is rare that a Community Band will exist this long from a city of approximately 13,000 people. You usually see the higher anniversaries at the large cities. This band, however, just keeps going because we love to play music. We now have over 50 members!
We are called the Auburn Community Band, however, we have members from not only Auburn but from Angola, Avilla, Butler, Churubusco, Columbia City, Fort Wayne, Fremont, Garrett, Huntertown, Hudson, Pleasant Lake, and St. Joe.
If you are interested in playing with the band, we rehearse every Thursday night from 7-9 PM at the DeKalb Middle School (Door 11) during the school year and at the First United Methodist Church on 7th Street during the summer. There are no tryouts or dues. The requirement is that you love to play music. So, contact any member of the band, call us at (260) 927-5746, check our website at acbindiana.org, or email us at admin@acbindiana.org, for information or answers to your questions. We would love to have you as a part of our group.
